Welcome to the Web site of Vision Quest 2000 and the 11th World Congress of Retina International. From July 14th through 16th participants from across Canada and around the world are gathering in Toronto to learn about the incredible advances made by researchers over the past few years. This unique forum offers all individuals who have an interest in retinal degenerative diseases an opportunity to participate in an international exchange of information, ideas and resources.
An Inukshuk (ee-nook-shook) is the logo of Vison Quest 2000. Inukshuk (plural, Inukshuit) is an Inuktitut word that means, "to look like a person" (an Inuk). Inukshuit are distinctive stone figures erected by the Inuit as landmarks to help travellers find their way and to mark areas where sustenance can be found. Inuit have been building Inukshuit for thousands of years, and these solitary images can still be found standing in Canada's most northern regions fulfilling their role as guide and signpost.
You can expect to see a number of the world's foremost authorities on retinal degenerative diseases at Vision Quest 2000. Our list of confirmed speakers can be viewed on our Scientists page.
